A Library is Brewing! Join the craft brew revolution with Legal Draft Beer Company at this fundraiser for the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on Sunday, April 23 from noon to 6 p.m. The afternoon features great drinks including root beer, live music, arts and crafts, and games for the whole family.

Greg McCarthy and Curt Taylor of Legal Draft Beer Company are excited to bring the craft brew revolution to their hometown of Arlington. Since opening in 2016, they've been part of Downtown Arlington's revitalization. The Downtown Library, which is set to open to the public in summer 2018, is another step in Arlington's growth.

A Library is Brewing features activities for all ages throughout the afternoon. Enjoy live music from the Taylor Twins, Love Rx, The BlueBeats Band, and Sweet T. Family activities include the library's new Imagination Playground in a Cart, a set of giant blocks provided through a grant from Target and KaBOOM!. Everyone can also enjoy crafts, board games, ping pong, and a cake walk donated by Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery.

Food trucks Chez Flo, Pokey O's, and The Virgin Olive will be on-site, selling a variety of cuisines. Library shirts and other swag will also be available to purchase.

Admission is at the door. Tickets for adults ages 21 and over are $20 and include a glass souvenir stein and three drinks. Children's tickets are $5 each for unlimited root beer.

A Library is Brewing is hosted by the Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library. All proceeds benefit the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. Learn more or donate now at arlingtonlibrary.org/dream-central/.
