Arlington Brings Home Three Awards

The City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department recently received three awards from the Texas Recreation and Park Society for excellence in park maintenance, programming and design. The awards were presented to the City at the North Texas Region 2 and 3 annual conference held on November 9 at the Hurst Convention Center.

"The city is honored to be recognized by our peers in the parks and recreation industry. We are very proud of the staff that worked so hard on selected programs as well as the employees that work every day to make Arlington a great place to live and play,' stated Pete Jamieson, Director of Parks and Recreation.

The awards presented were:

  1. Excellence in Maintenance - Tierra Verde Biodiesel Project
  2. Park Design Excellence - River Legacy Parks Nature Playground
  3. Committee's Choice Award - Brand-Aid Marketing and Promotions Conference
