If you' ve eaten at Tin Cup on Abram Street, you' ve gotten a taste of Damon Carney' s childhood memories.

After years of pursuing acting careers in Los Angeles, Minnesota and New York, Damon moved to Arlington in 2000 with his wife and their two children and opened a sandwich shop.

"We chose Arlington because it was central to the metroplex and close to our families in Tyler. We liked the schools, the area and the proximity to everything."

Married for nearly 23 years, the Tyler couple grew up in large families. Damon is one of 11, Brandi is one of seven. The two have fond memories of sandwich night in their respective households, and Brandi created the entire menu of unique sandwiches. The hallmark potato sticks were selected as a side after a hands-down vote from family members before the restaurant opened.

"I don' t know what it is about potato sticks. Maybe it takes us all back to our childhood," Damon said with a smile.

Monday night, Damon Carney will be realizing his childhood dream as he walks down the red carpet with the cast and crew of Lone Ranger, a Western film that also stars Johnny Depp. Damon stars as Blaine, one of the rangers.

"I literally lost it when I found out I got the role. To work with Jerry Bruckheimer and the core people who did Pirates of the Caribbean was just unreal."

Damon' s IMDB shows that he has acted in Swingtown, Prison Break, Walker, Texas Ranger and the new Dallas. But the opportunity to be a part of Lone Ranger was a dream come true for the 45 year-old father of two.

"I pinched myself every day and thought I was the luckiest guy. I was picked out of thousands of talented actors from around the country," said Damon.

Filming took Damon through Albuquerque, New Mexico, Monument Valley, Utah and Canyon de Chelley in Arizona. In addition to Johnny Depp, Damon had the opportunity to act alongside Armie Hammer, William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson and Helena Bonham Carter. He said the cast had become a small family by the time filming was over. Damon doesn' t know what' s in store for his acting career in the future, but he knows that nothing will compare to the experience he had in being a part of Lone Ranger.

"It was a dream come true, an adventure of a lifetime. I grew up watching Westerns with my family. I can' t wait to sit in the theater and watch it with my 83-year old father."

Damon and Brandi Carney walk down the red carpet for the cast and crew premiere tonight at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. Lone Ranger is in theaters starting July 3.
