This year, $36,050.91 was raised by City of Arlington employees for the United Way and the community partner agencies they assist in Tarrant County.

Together, the Arlington Police Department and the Arlington Fire Department united for the citywide fundraising campaign and contributed nearly $3,700 to the final total from special events and online donations. The three-week campaign ended May 5, 2012.

Through the United Way, Arlington Police and Fire Department employees demonstrated their compassion for the community.

The Public Safety campaign included a hot dog lunch, a breakfast, bowling tournament and softball game. The departments also worked together to collect toiletry items that were donated to the American Red Cross to assist families displaced by tragedy.

A special thanks to all who contributed to the success of this year’s campaign!
