In an effort to get people outside and active, the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department is making it easier for you to exercise and learn how to do it correctly. And guess what, it's free!

Recently, city staff created a number of individual "How To" videos to promote exercise in Stovall Park. As you walk the trail you can access an instructional video on your smartphone for each fitness station. The videos can be accessed by downloading the City of Arlington app at webapps.arlingtontx.gov/tmp/app, by scanning one of the qr codes on the trail, or by clicking here.

Susie Traylor, Fitness Instructor at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center, narrated the videos with the help of her son as the trainee. "The videos provide beginners the opportunity to learn how to properly utilize fitness trail equipment and get healthy at the same time," stated Traylor.

The department created these educational fitness instruction videos as a pilot project with the intention of developing similar videos at other trails within the park system. Currently, the city has seven fitness trails. Locations include; Clarence Foster Park (North), Fish Creek Neighborhood Park (South), Gibbons Park, River Legacy Parks (North),SJ Stovall Park (South), Treepoint Park (South) and Wimbledon Park (South).

To access the instructional videos go to our Naturally Fun TV YouTube channel.
