The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office confirms Steven Nelson was found guilty of capital murder in the 2011 death of pastor Clint Dobson Monday morning. The jury deliberated for just over an hour before finding 25-year old Nelson guilty.

According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dobson, 28, was severely beaten, bound and then suffocated with a plastic bag over his head in his office at NorthPointe Baptist Church in north Arlington. The church secretary, Judy Elliott, was beaten and left for dead, but survived the attack that happened in March 2011.

The penalty phase of the trial will take place Monday afternoon. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
