Texas Christkindl Market - Opens Fri. Nov. 25, 2016

Arlington will soon see the return of a holiday favorite and one of the largest open-air holiday markets in the Southwest. Inspired by the traditional Christmas market of Arlington's sister city Bad Königshofen, Germany, the 6th Annual Texas Christkindl Market will re-open for business this year on Black Friday at Globe Life Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m and continues through Dec. 23, 2016. Regular shopping hours will resume as follows: Monday - Friday, Noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m.

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, transforms into the epitome of a holiday extravaganza. On select dates from November 19 through January 2, 2017, favorite attractions such as SantaLand, the Holiday Tree of Trees Light Spectacular, Frosty Snowhill and more await guests during this magical time of year. For over 30 years, Holiday in the Park has spread joy to families from all over the state and surrounding areas. New this year to Holiday in the Park- Deep in the Heart of Christmas! 7th Annual Arlington Turkey Trot

There's still time to sign-up to participate in the 7th Annual Arlington Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. Registration and the Start & Finish race site are on Road to Six Flags along the entire north side of the Globe Life Park. Free Parking will again be at the Arlington Convention Center and Texas Rangers Lot J. Net proceeds from the Arlington Turkey Trot will again go to support The Shoe Bank, a Metroplex based non-profit organization and recipient of many local, state, and national awards for more than 25 years. Pablo Picasso: Ceramics Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

The Arlington Museum of Art in Downtown proudly announces its winter blockbuster exhibit, Pablo Picasso: Ceramics, featuring more than 40 ceramics by renowned artist Pablo Picasso. The exhibit will be on display from November 12, 2016 through February 12, 2017. An opening reception for exhibit sponsors, museum members, and special guests will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. For more information, visit ArlingtonMuseum.org. Adventure to Santa at The Parks at Arlington

Adventure to Santa, a storytelling experience designed by Dreamworks Animation, returns to The American Dream City this holiday season at The Parks at Arlington! The all-new attraction lets you and your family join Po and Friends from Kung Fu Panda for interactive games and an immersive, cinematic journey that transports guests to the North Pole for your private meeting with Santa. This event will be open to the public until Christmas Eve. This is a popular attraction and booking online is strongly recommended to secure your preferred date and time. Redskins vs. Cowboys at AT&T Stadium

The Dallas Cowboys (9-1) host the Washington Redskins (6-3-1), their bitter division rival on Thanksgiving Day at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. NFL football on Thanksgiving has been a regular occurrence since the league's inception in 1920. Quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys are coming off a win over the Baltimore Ravens and remain in 1st place in the NFC East. The Cowboys also have the best record in the entire NFL. Kickoff for the game starts at 3:30 p.m. CT. on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Mission Arlington Turkey Dinner Deliveries

Ushering in the season of giving, thousands of volunteers will once again come together in Downtown Arlington to help families in need enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. It's an annual effort by Mission Arlington to make the holiday special for families in need. Approximately 6,000 volunteers will gather at Mission Arlington's main office (210 W. South Street) at 8 a.m. Thursday, November 24, 2016, to deliver turkeys, turkey baskets and hot meals to people in need. If you want to bring a group to volunteer, before Thanksgiving, or on Thanksgiving day, call Mission Arlington at 817-277-6620, ext. 6143.
