More than 9,780 children, teens, and adults participated in the Arlington Public Library 's Summer Reading Club, which came to a close July 30. To celebrate another successful year, the Library has an all-ages celebration planned for this coming weekend.

Families and children are invited to Globe Life Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 7 to enjoy the Summer Reading Club Final Celebration. The free event will include access to the Kids Zone, an indoor play space complete with slides, climbing wall, ball pit, and play spaces; crafts; a clown; a juggler; and visits from Ranger Captain, the mascot of the Texas Rangers; and the Dallas Wings Flight Crew.

Adults are invited to enjoy the views of the ballpark from the Hyundai Club while enjoying a live square dancing demonstration and the chance to win door prizes. Any adults who participated in the 2016 Geocaching Challenge will be able to pick up their pathtags, and the winner of the Family Staycation will be presented with a prize.

The Library 's Summer Reading Club is an annual program that encourages children to read during the summer months when school is out. Children who read during the summer vacation are more likely to stay on grade-level and be prepared for the new school year. The program is open to all ages, and Arlington residents young and old have enjoyed working toward a reading goal during the summer months.
