1. Jiggle Butt Run 5K

Registration is still open for the 12th annual Jiggle Butt Run 5K run and walk, set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the University of Texas at Arlington. Proceeds from the USATF-certified event benefit SafeHaven of Tarrant County, which provides care and shelter to victims of domestic abuse. The Jiggle Butt Run and Walk has raised more than $170,000 for the organization, which has shelters in Arlington and Fort Worth. 2. Painting Classes at Globe Life Park

The Texas Rangers have announced a series of painting classes to be hosted at the ballpark in the coming months, with the first offering slated for Friday, January 26. Each class will be hosted by local instructors with specialized skill-sets and the ability to deliver world-class, hands-on experiences to guests. All attendees will complete a painting they can take home. New paintings will be offered for each class. No experience is required to participate and all supplies are included. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at texasrangers.com/experiences.

3. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for two nights of live music this weekend. On Friday night, Metro Rocket Band will take the stage at 9 p.m. The members of the four-piece band have been involved in live radio broadcasts and entertainment television programs both locally and nationally. On Saturday night, residents and visitors can check out the soulful, raspy vocals from Van Darien. That show also starts at 9 p.m. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

4. Indoor Swimming Deals at Hugh Smith Recreation Center

5. Steve Moya & Christie Neale at Arlington Museum of Art

Local artists Steve Moya and Christie Neale will showcase their work in an exhibit opening this Friday, January 26 at Arlington Music Hall in Downtown. Born and raised in Fort Worth, Neale was trained in oil painting, which was her medium of choice for 20 years. She then began experimenting with resin after she was inspired by the courage of wounded veterans. For Steve Moya, painting iconic rockers and capturing the feel of them performing has been the focus of his work over the past 10 years. 6. On Tap's One-Year Anniversary

Join On Tap this weekend as they celebrate the pub's One Year Anniversary in Downtown Arlington! The two-day event will be held both Friday and Saturday, January 26-27, and will feature rare beer tappings, giveaways, food specials from Grease Monkey Burgers. 7. Sylvia at Theatre Arlington

Enjoy a night at the theatre this weekend in Downtown Arlington, with the romantic comedy Sylvia. Appropriate for audiences ages 16 and up, the show runs through February 4, 2018 at Theatre Arlington. Tickets are available at www.theatrearlington.org.

8. Squeezebox Bandits at J. Gilligan's

Make a trip to J. Gilligan's in Downtown Arlington this Friday, January 26, 2018 for live music featuring Squeezebox Bandits from 9 p.m. to around midnight. Based out of Fort Worth, the Squeezebox Bandits have a fused sound of music, mixing in Tex-Mex Zydeco, some Old Honky Tonk and some Texas Blues. J. Gilligan's has been a Downtown staple since 1979 and owner Randy Ford has been providing a home for live music and local bands for decades. 9. 57 Sauce at J.R. Bentley's

57 Sauce, a hometown band that started up in 2012, is set to perform at 8 p.m. this Friday, January 26, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The group plays a wide variety of songs in the genres of Funk, Rock and Reggae. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010. 10. Polystarra, Science for Giants & Covan Treez at Division Brewing

Come out for craft beer and live music at Division Brewing this Friday, January 26, 2018 from 7:30-11 p.m. Tickets are $5 and the event will benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation. The night will feature performances by Polystarra, Science for Giants, and Covan Treez. Division Brewing is located at 506 E Main St, Arlington, TX 76010. 11. Happy Hour Yoga at Legal Draft Beer Co.
