4-17-20 Update: If you’re spring cleaning, please set out bulk and brush/yard waste on your recycle day for pickup rather than go to the landfill. Long lines of cars are forming and interrupting the flow of trucks from entering and exiting the landfill. We need trucks to make their way in and out of the landfill quickly and efficiently for residential curbside collection throughout the day. Thank you for your help and continued patience as we manage operations during this challenging time.

Mas Energy, LLC Renewable Gas Facility

Since 1999, the City has had an agreement with Renovar Arlington Ltd. to operate and maintain the landfill gas collection and control system. Renovar’s newly-constructed renewable natural gas facility, which collects biogases in Arlington and Fort Worth to be processed and sold for transportation fuel, was one of eight projects across the country to be honored in 2019 by the American Biogas Council for an extremely innovative business model and deployment of leading-edge technology.

As part of the partnership with Renovar Arlington Ltd., the City of Arlington earns royalties for the sale of the renewable natural gas and Renewable Identification Numbers, which are credits for compliance through the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard Program, from biogases that Renovar processes at the facility.
