City Manager Trey YelvertonTrey has been with the City of Arlington since 1993, and currently serves as the City Manager.

Prior to becoming City Manager, he was a Deputy City Manager with oversight of the Economic Development and Neighborhood Services teams, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Downtown Management Corporation; as well as leading the City’s team to fulfill the City’s obligations in developing Cowboys Stadium.

Prior to becoming Deputy City Manager, Trey served as Director of the Neighborhood Services Department and Executive Director of the Arlington Housing Authority. In this capacity, he managed the Arlington Housing Authority and the City’s Neighborhood Services Department, which included Health Services, Animal Services, Sanitary Landfill/Garbage/Recycling, and Code Compliance.

As a member of the City’s executive management team, he has contributed to numerous initiatives, such as developing Tarrant County’s Workforce Governing Board and Local Workforce Development Board; creation of affordable housing – Arlington New Beginnings, Vision Arlington, and High Oak redevelopment; and, development of the City’s Visitor’s Information Center/Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Women’s Shelter, and Continuing Education and Workforce Development Center at UT Arlington.

Trey’s prior experience in Arlington includes serving as the Assistant Director of Community Development, Community Development Coordinator, and Assistant to the City Manager. He also previously served as a budget analyst for the City of Dallas.

Trey received his BA in Political Science-Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1988 and his Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Texas in 1989. In 2000, he served as President of the UTA Alumni Association and was the university’s Student Body President in 1988. Also in 1988, Trey served as Urban Management Assistants of North Texas President after holding various officer and committee co-chair positions.
