Arlington Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution Hosts Inaugural Wreaths Across America Ceremony

Arlington-based, Lucretia Council Cochran Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) hosts the inaugural wreath-laying ceremony in Arlington as part of the National Wreaths Across America Day on Dec. 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. The Old Arlington and Parkdale Cemeteries in Downtown Arlington are joining over 3,000 other locations across the country for the 2022 National Wreaths Across America Day. Volunteers will place holiday wreaths on the graves of 878 veterans, following a ceremony in memory of those who served our country.

The nationwide event happens every December, with the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach through wreath-laying ceremonies at the Arlington National Cemetery, locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education. DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America.
