Tarrant County College students will be able to continue using the City of Arlington’s Via rideshare public transportation service for free during the upcoming fall and spring semesters as part of a two-year pilot program.

This program, funded by the North Central Texas Council of Governments, allows Tarrant County College students to ride Via to and from anywhere within the Arlington city limits. The purpose of this program is to help provide access to higher education in the City of Arlington and promote workforce development and job readiness. More than 800 rides were provided to TCC students between September 2020 and May 2021 during the first year of the pilot program.

In support of City Council’s priority to Enhance Regional Mobility, Arlington first partnered with Via Transportation, Inc., in 2017. The app-based, on-demand public transportation program, now in its fourth year, is available citywide and also connects riders to the CentrePort TRE Station. Fares range between $3 and $5 depending on the trip distance.

Ready to try Via today? Book a trip on a rideshare vehicle using the free Via app or call 817-784-7382. Enter your pick-up and drop-off locations and a vehicle will pick you up within a block or two of where you are. The service is offered between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday.
