Two ranking services recently recognized The University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) as home to some of the nation’s top nursing programs.

Nursing School Hub ranked CONHI No. 16 on its list of Top 25 Most Affordable Online Master’s in Nursing Educator Programs for 2021.

Nursing Schools Almanac ranked the college in four different categories:

  • No. 6 overall in the Southwest region
  • No. 6 overall in Texas
  • No. 46 among public nursing schools
  • No. 89 nursing school in the United States

“Our college is rapidly gaining recognition as a major center for innovative health care research with internationally renowned faculty members specializing in myriad areas, including cardiovascular conditions, aging, esophageal cancer, osteoporosis, bone disease, patient safety and health disparities,” said Elizabeth Merwin, CONHI dean. “These recognitions showcase our ability to meet the critical needs of the state and nation by integrating the highest levels of academic excellence and rigor with the maximum level of skills preparation for immediate impact in the workforce.”

CONHI is the No. 1 producer of baccalaureate-degreed nurses in Texas and is the largest nursing program of any public institution in the country. In 2020, UTA’s nursing program was one of 17 nationwide to be named a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing (NLN). It is the third time in recent years that CONHI has received this designation from the NLN.

Earlier this year, CONHI’s online master’s program jumped 14 spots and was ranked among the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report in the magazine’s annual list of Best Online Programs.
