UTA Spotlight: Lady Mavericks Help Raise Awareness of Ovarian Cancer in Honor of Coach

Greetings from The American Dream City! Be sure to tune into the newest installment of UTA Spotlight, a weekly news update featuring broadcasting students reporting on events, projects, announcements and other key news and happenings on the University of Texas at Arlington campus and around Arlington.

This week’s stories include:

  • The Lady Mavericks opened its season with a special game for ovarian cancer awareness in honor of Coach Noel Johnson, who is fighting the disease.  
  • The Episcopal Chruch of Arlington teams up with the International Student Organization to provide free groceries once a month to students in need. 
  • The Basement, a new space in the UTA Library for gamers, recently hosted a Level Up event with pizza, drinks and video game play for students.

Segments run every week during the semester on Arlington’s cable channel, Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99.
