Spring means the return of Arlington’s biggest art festivals. And this year, there’s a new addition. After you’ve soaked up the local and international art scene, head to the Arlington Museum of Art for a special exhibit from Keith Haring.
Here’s a list of five big art events coming up in The American Dream City.
May 4, 2019

12:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Nearly 100 artists and vendors will showcase their work at the East Main Arts Festival, in Downtown Arlington. Whether you have a large art collection or you’re just looking for the right piece, organizers say there is something for everyone, in every price range. Admission is free.
May 10-12, 2019
Richard Greene Linear Park
1601 E. Randol Mill Rd., Arlington
100 local, regional and national artists will fill Arlington’s Entertainment District with one-of-a-kind creations. From ceramics to woodworking, a variety of styles will be on display, at different price points. There are also 11 bands scheduled to perform, with food and wine vendors booked as well. Parking and admission are free.
May 10-12, 2019
AT&T Stadium
The KAABOO Festival is more than just a concert and comedy experience. It will also showcase work from about 120 artists and organizations. Artists will also be creating pieces during the festival, so you can watch them in action. KAABOO says showcasing the pieces inside AT&T Stadium will create an immersive experience. Your passes also give you access to the concerts and comedy shows.
June 21 – September 15
201 W. Main St., Arlington
(Photo shows Haring's work on the wall of a church in Pisa, Italy)
Keith Haring’s art went from New York subway stations to galleries around the world. His designs were also printed on everything from t-shirts to toys, as he made his work available to the masses. Haring was a pioneer in the fight against AIDS and created images for different organizations around the world. He was diagnosed with the virus in 1988 and died from AIDS-related complications in 1990. But his work lives on, and this summer you can experience it for yourself at the Arlington Museum of Art.
June 29
1650 E. Randol Mill Rd., Arlington
There is no passport required at the “Texas Live!” World of Art festival. The event goes beyond just canvas with musical acts, fashion shows, and hair and makeup exhibits. All of the featured artists are local. Tickets are $20 if you purchase before April 30. You can also use the promo code “WOADFW” for $5 off. (This code is valid through April 30.)
