Tax Help

Need help with your income taxes? Arlington residents whose individual or household income is less than $60,000 annually are eligible for free income tax assistance.

Two community tax center locations will be open through June 15, 2021, in Arlington to provide free tax preparation assistance by IRS-certified volunteers. No appointment is needed at either location.

To protect public health during the coronavirus pandemic, clients will be required to wear a mask when dropping off required paperwork. Communication with clients will be done by phone and the signed tax returns will be available for pick up on a separate date.

Since 2005, Tarrant County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance has filed more than 50,000 tax returns for low-income working families, including 31,169 in Arlington. In addition to helping individuals and families receiving Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credits secure more than $39.2 million in refunds during that time frame, VITA volunteers also provide financial coaching, savings bond program and referral to community resources.
