Street Construction Safety Barrel

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has begun a $6.4 million pavement overlay project sections of FM 157 (Cooper and Collins streets), and SH 180 (Division Street) in the City of Arlington. This project will remove existing pavement, repair the roadway, and lay a new asphalt road surface.

To minimize the impact of traffic delays, TxDOT will utilize two paving crews. One crew will work on Division Street between Fielder Road and SH 360, while another crew is assigned to Collins Street. Once work on Collins Street has been completed, the crew will move to Cooper Street near the University of Texas at Arlington. The second paving crew will work on Division Street from Fielder Road to SH 360.

All paving activities will be restricted to 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday; however, single lane closures will be permitted for miscellaneous preparation activities between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year and will improve seven miles of Arlington roadways.

Information about this and other TxDOT construction project is available on TxDOT’s Fort Worth District webpage.
