The Arlington City Council supports youth and families as essential building blocks for the future of our American Dream City.

Whether collaborating with public and private educational institutions of all levels or providing programs and services directly that support youth and their families, the City of Arlington strives to help youth and their families reach their highest potential in life.

In the latest quarterly edition of the Support Youth and Families newsletter, you can read more about:

  • A $750,000 grant from the Texas Library and Archives Commission that will help the City increase the community’s access to technology within and surrounding the future East Library and Recreation Center, which will open at Bob Cooke Park off New York Avenue next year.
  • Nearly 700 Arlington and Mansfield students participated in learning activities and received tools to become more water efficient at home as part of the WaterWise program hosted by Arlington Water Utilities and the Tarrant Regional Water District.
  • The Arlington Police Department has formed a partnership with the Arlington Independent School District and My Health My Resource of Tarrant County to promote a safe school environment.
  • The Arlington Public Library launched a series of free classes in the Makerspace for Spanish-speaking patrons.
  • Families who enjoyed the City’s swimming pools helped make a splash in the community by donating school supplies as part of Arlington Aquatics’ ninth annual Back to School Splash.
  • More than 210 neighborhoods across Arlington hosted National Night Out gatherings in October. The City of Arlington ranked No. 1 for National Night Out participation last year.
  • A new internship partnership between Arlington Water Utilities and the Texas Workforce Commission is helping young people who have aged out of foster care find job experience and job prospects in the water industry.

All quarterly City Council priority newsletters are produced in a digital formal, allowing for layers of additional video content and important links.
