Nia Newsome, a sophomore on Arlington High School’s softball team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for March 2019.
Newsome was named First Team All-District as a freshman, as well as First Team All-Academic.
“Once she gets into the locker room and changes she know it’s time to start playing, whether it’s practice or a game,” said Valarie Henry, Head Softball Coach at Arlington High School. “She’s like that in the classroom as well.”
Newsome's favorite subject is Medical Terminology and she hopes to continue playing softball at the college level and study medicine.
