Arlington Residents Invited to Learn More About Work on Road to Six Flags, 2022 ADA Sidewalk Improvements at Oct. 20 Public Meeting

Public Meeting Notice

The Public Works Department is pleased to announce that work on the Road To Six Flags and 2022 ADA Sidewalk Improvements will begin on Nov. 7, 2022. This project aims to improve mobility by installing continuous ADA compliant pedestrian paths at eight locations throughout the City.

This project, which is estimated to be completed in August 2023, includes adding sidewalk and ADA compliant pedestrian ramps at the following locations:

  • Firewood Drive (Green Oaks Boulevard to Smokerise Drive)
  • Intersection of Kelly Elliott Road and SW Green Oaks Boulevard
  • Kelly Elliott Road (Pleasant Ridge Road to IH-20 Service Road)
  • Little Road (Arborgate Drive to Dangerfield Court)
  • Mayfield Road (Sprocket Drive to Field Road)
  • Meadowview Drive (Brookmoor Drive to Rushmoor Drive)
  • Road To Six Flags Street (Ballpark Way to Six Flags Drive)
  • Seely Street (Redwater Drive to Caplin Drive)
  • Sprocket Drive (Chantilly Court to Mayfield Road)

Residents interested in learning more about the project are invited to participate in a public meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in the [re]Brary Rooms A & B, in the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, located at 100 S. Center St. There will be a short presentation followed by an opportunity to speak one-on-one with city staff.

This project supports the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Mobility and Champion Great Neighborhoods.
