Arlington Animal Services receives $20,000 grant from Petco Love

Excitement was in the air at Southwest Arlington Petco as a giant $20,000 check from Petco Love was presented to Animal Services Manager Ashley Woolnough earlier this summer.

“Donations made at checkout at Petco, by customers with a passion to help pets in need, help make grant investments like these possible,” said Benny Fernandez, manager of Petco at 4001 W. Green Oaks Boulevard. “This year, Petco Love invested more than $15 million in grants to hundreds of partners, like Arlington Animal Services, to help save more pet lives.”

The generous Petco Love donation on July 26 will boost life-saving efforts at Animal Services. Dogs and cats go missing daily, and often are entering the shelter with a variety of special medical needs. Physical conditions can include severe malnourishment, skin conditions, heartworm, broken bones, and many other ailments.

The funding will help with treatment of animals while in the shelter’s care with carry over to assist adopters with treating adopted pets as well as funding initiatives and eliminating barriers to keep families together.

Heartfelt appreciation to Petco Love, the Southwest Arlington Petco team, the community for their support, and all that help with pet life-saving efforts by choosing to adopt! Click here to learn more about Arlington Animal Services.
