Adoptable dogs Darling and Danny thrived while doing yoga poses alongside Animal Services Volunteer Debbie Best at a special Pawmaste class at Tails N’ Trails Dog Park on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Best’s event was to give the public some therapeutic yoga mixed with pet therapy while supporting the shelter’s Heartworm treatment assistance program. Darling and Danny are both young dogs, yet VIPs due to their length of time spent at the shelter waiting for forever homes. It was fun watching these adoptable pup’s experiences with yoga and they are now deemed official yogis – or would that be dogis?!

“We had a pawsitively wonderful time!” said Best, Animal Services Bill McCart 2020 Volunteer of the Year. “It is a way to help people relax, stretch their bodies gently and find peace within themselves. Pets are known to bring joy and comfort in our lives. What a perfect way to bring relaxation into one’s life and reduce anxiety by doing yoga with dogs!”

Best shares her gifts and expertise teaching puppy and cat yoga classes, dog socialization training and much more. Learn more about Best and some of her other amazing talents here.

Special appreciation to Debbie Best, to all that participated in Pawmaste and everyone with a passion to help support homeless animals and our Heartworm Treatment Assistance Program!
