Child meets Arlington police officer at Oakridge eventiThe Oakridge School will give children the chance to meet fictional and real-life superheroes, such as police officers, active-duty service members and others from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, July 25. The event, on the Oakridge campus at 5900 W. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington, is free for the community.

In addition to getting up close and personal with superheroes, there will also be fun at the playground, water activities, and vehicles to explore.

“We have such a great time interacting with families and take very seriously our role in the community,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Nadia DiStefano. “Just as we saw with our Touch A Truck event earlier this summer, we expect our Superheroes event to provide wonderment for young children and parental engagement in an outdoor learning environment.”

Faculty and staff will also be on hand to answer questions about the admissions process and Oakridge’s academics, arts and athletics programs.
