Arlington's Oak Lake neighborhood has a new bridge, thanks to help from the City's Neighborhood Matching Grant program.

The neighborhood's old bridge was deteriorating, and families began to worry it would soon become a safety hazard. As they looked into replacing the bridge, they quickly learned the project would come with a big price tag.

Residents had heard about the City's Neighborhood Matching Grant program and decided to see if the project was eligible. They applied and were chosen to receive $21,500 from the City. That covered more than a fourth of the total cost.

Homeowners say the grant helped make the project possible and ensured homeowners' association dues stayed low.

The City's Office of Communication develops programming for MyArlingtonTV. Viewers can find MyArlingtonTV programs on the following cable systems: Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming capabilities at www.arlingtontx.gov.

All episodes are also available on the City's YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter account.
