Halloween is just around the corner, and the City has several great ways to celebrate. Plus, a Texas tradition becomes a work of art. And it's time for a little fall cleaning.

Here's a to-do list you won't mind tackling.

✅ Make a splash for Halloween

Arlington Parks and Recreation is hosting Spooky Swamp at Hugh Smith Recreation Center and Indoor Pool Friday, Oct. 25. Bring your bathing suit and prepare for a few spooky sights along the way. The event runs from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $2.50 a person.

✅ Celebrate a Texas tradition

There is nothing more Texas than the homecoming mum. And now the tradition is taking center stage in a new exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art in Downtown Arlington. "Mumentous" chronicles the evolution of the mum into the statement piece it is today. The exhibit runs through Nov. 24, 2019.

✅ Trick or treat with Arlington Public Library

Let your young children (ages 0-5) show off their costumes at a party just for them. The Arlington Public Library Southeast Branch is hosting its free Tiny Treaters event Halloween night. Drop in between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

✅ Clean out the medicine cabinet

Saturday, Oct. 26 is your chance to easily get rid of unwanted prescription medications. Arlington Police Department is hosting a drug takeback day at several police stations and the Walgreens store at 4400 W. Green Oaks Boulevard. Drop your medicine off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
