A new school year is just around the corner. And while this one will certainly look different than years past, there is still plenty to look forward to. From school supply shopping to safe outdoor activities, here's a to-do list you won't mind tackling. 

✅ Get Ready for a New School Year

This weekend is your chance to save during the state's sales tax holiday. Most school supplies, clothes and shoes will be available tax-free. Click here to learn more. 

And make sure you're registered for the Arlington ISD Back to School Kickoff Event. Families will receive free supplies while remaining socially distanced. The giveaway is Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020. Click here to register and learn more.

✅ Enjoy Time Outdoors

A new, wider trail recently opened at Arlington's Cravens Park. Click here to see the changes, then lace up your shoes and head out to enjoy.

✅ Plan Your Weekend Drive

Interstate 30 will be closed through part of Arlington this weekend. The stretch between Collins Street and SH 161/PGBT will be closed from Friday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. through Monday, Aug. 10 at 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured south to Division/Main Streets. ✅ Open the Door to a Better Future

U.S. Census Bureau workers are now following up with families in Arlington who have not yet filled out their 2020 Census. The workers will identify themselves and will have government-issued IDs. You can still respond to the Census online and avoid a visit. Click here to fill out your Census.
