It's starting to feel like summer in The American Dream City. School is out, pools are open and temperatures are heating up. We want to help make it a summer to remember. So we've created a to-do list to help you meet your neighbors, explore a world of books and make the planet a little greener.

Your New To-Do List

✅ Catch some hang time

The newest roller coaster is now open at Six Flags Over Texas. El Diablo takes riders on a 100-foot tall loop, in just 6.66 seconds. The ride is in the park's Spain section.

✅ Enjoy a good book (and win some great prizes)

The Arlington Public Library's Summer Reading Club begins Saturday, June 1. You can register at your local branch or online here. You only need to read five hours this summer to be eligible for prizes.

✅ Throw the perfect party

We want to help you meet your neighbors. The City's "Neighborhood Block Party Trailer" is free to reserve and has everything you need inside for the perfect evening (including yard games.) We'll even drop it off at your home and pick it up a few days later. Follow this link to reserve the trailer now.

The City of Arlington is phasing out plastic bags from the recycling stream. The bags get caught in the equipment and slow down the entire process. Plus, recycling centers are having a tough time finding buyers for the recycled product. You can still return the bags to most grocery stores or grab a reusable bag for your next shopping trip.
