Volunteers Needed This Saturday for Fish Creek Cleanup Challenge

Organizers for the upcoming 4th annual Fish Creek Cleanup Challenge are seeking volunteers to collect discarded cans, glass and plastic bottles, paper and other debris littering the banks of the southeast Arlington creek.

 The event is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Much of the trash is lightweight, such as plastic bags, Styrofoam cups and paper. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, closed toe shoes or waterproof boots and any preferred tools, such as trash grabbers. Event organizers and supporters are providing gloves, trash bags, hand sanitizer and a limited number of tools. Click here for more details on how to volunteer.

Series of Residential Trash Collection Town Hall Meetings Starts Thursday

The first of five Arlington City Council town hall meetings about the future of citywide residential trash collection is set for this Thursday.

 With the City Council reviewing available options for residential trash collection service over the coming months, this series of public meetings is designed to provide information and answer residents’ questions. Visit www.arlingtontx.gov/trashpickup for more details.

South SH 360 Corridor Strategy Input Sought

The third and final round of public input opportunities to help shape the City of Arlington's South SH 360  Corridor Development Strategy is open until Monday, Jan. 31. This public input period will unveil the complete draft Strategy document for public review and feedback.

 The study is intended to guide future development, strengthen neighborhoods, build community capacity, improve transportation and safety, enhance economic development, and position the South SH 360 Corridor as a strong southeastern gateway to Arlington. FEMA Drive-Thru Covid-19 Test Site Open Near Choctaw Stadium

Looking for a PCR Covid-19 test in Arlington? FEMA is operating a drive-thru test site near Choctaw Stadium (formerly known as Globe Life Park) through Feb. 8.

 The site, which is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., is located in Texas Rangers’ Sienna Lot M at 1205 Pennant Drive. The testing site can only be accessed by entering southbound on AT&T Way. Results are available within 24 to 36 hours.
