Arlington Residents Can Apply to Serve on 2023 Citizens Bond Committee Now Through May 31

The City of Arlington is seeking residents who are interested in serving on the 2023 Citizens Bond Committee. The Citizens Bond Committee will be made of 19 City Council-appointed Arlington residents who will review and recommend projects for a bond program that could be presented to Arlington voters in May 2023.

Arlington Runoff Election on June 18

A runoff election is scheduled Saturday, June 18 for the open at-large District 6 City Council seat. Because none of the four candidates received more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election between the two candidates with the most votes is set for June 18. Long Pham received 46.5% of the vote and Albert Parra received 35.9%, according to unofficial vote totals. If you are voting between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, you can vote at any open polling place in Tarrant County. Discover Summer with the Arlington Public Library

All Arlington residents big and small are invited to experience the Arlington Public Library in a new way this summer. Discover books, art, and music and participate in digital challenges all while winning fun prizes. Our ‘Discover Summer’ program will give patrons an opportunity to experience events like beekeeping, pottery, poetic storytelling, and more! The ‘Discover Summer’ program runs from Saturday, May 21, 2022, through Sunday, July 31, 2022, at all library locations.

Quarter Neighborhood Leadership Network Meeting is May 21, 2022 at 9:30 am

The Neighborhood Leadership Network (NLN) is a working group for neighborhood leaders across the City of Arlington to build relationships with other neighborhood leaders, learn best practices for a variety of neighborhood issues and develop a partnership with the City. The NLN is a resource for strengthening neighborhood leaders and providing resources that will empower Arlington neighborhoods to achieve neighborhood and community goals.

The Neighborhood Leadership Network meets quarterly to discuss pertinent neighborhood issues, and to learn about City initiatives affecting neighborhoods throughout Arlington. Members must be able to demonstrate an existing leadership role within their neighborhood organization by meeting 4 of the 8 criteria available on the Neighborhood Leadership Network websiteRead more information and to apply to join.
