National Medal of Honor Museum

The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation (NMOHMF) today announced Charlotte Jones, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer for the Dallas Cowboys, as Chairman of its Board of Directors, as well as Staff Sergeant David Bellavia, a Medal Of Honor recipient, as its newest board member.

“It’s an absolute honor to welcome Charlotte Jones as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Medal of Honor Recipient David Bellavia to the board. The National Medal of Honor Museum is on a mission to honor those who have done the unfathomable to protect our very way of life. Now, more than ever, it is time for our nation to come together to complete this mission and these two tremendous leaders will play a leading role in helping us do just that,” said Museum President and CEO Joe Daniels.

“I am honored to accept this new mission as we work together to build a place where our bravest heroes finally get the recognition they earned through service and sacrifice. Through the creation of the National Medal of Honor Museum here in Arlington, TX, and a monument in our nation’s capital, we will honor our nation’s gallant warriors by giving Americans from all walks of life a place to see their faces, hear their voices, discover their stories, and learn what it takes to become the heroes of tomorrow,” said Chairman Charlotte Jones. “This museum will truly be an inspiration for generation after generation of Americans and empower the future heroes and leaders of this country.”

Jones oversees all business operations, strategies and applications surrounding the Dallas Cowboys brand as it is presented to fans worldwide. She is currently Chairman of the NFL Foundation and previously served as chair of the Salvation Army’s National Advisory Board.

Staff Sergeant Bellavia earned the Medal of Honor for his bravery in the Second Battle of Fallujah during the Iraq War. At the expense of his own safety, he fought to save members of his platoon from an imminent threat. To date, he is the only living recipient from the Iraq conflict. Bellavia left the Army in 2005 and is now the President of Duty 1st LLC and Chairman of Deuce Deuce Relief Fund Inc.

“Like all Medal of Honor recipients, I wear the Medal for the men and women I fought alongside, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Military service is defined by love of country, and I am honored to join the mission to build a museum and monument that will allow Americans from every generation to learn about the values the Medal of Honor stands for – courage, integrity, commitment, sacrifice and patriotism – and how we can all apply them to our day-to-day lives,” said SSG David Bellavia.

SSG Bellavia joined four recipients on NMOHMF’s board: MG Patrick Brady, USA (ret.), COL Jack Jacobs, USA (ret.), SOCM (SEAL) Britt Slabinski, USN (ret.), and LTC William Swenson, USA. A full listing of NMOHMF board members may be found here.
