Snuffle mats are the latest craze with the shelter dogs! They are all woofing about this newest animal enrichment item personally handcrafted by Animal Services Golden PAWS (People are Willing and Sharing) volunteers. Once they find all the hidden treats, many find comfort snuggling with the mat.

Golden PAWS volunteers do not need a designated day like National Craft for Your Shelter Day on the 21st of July, to share their amazing talent. This active group of senior volunteers regularly donate time (currently in a socially distanced, social environment) designing everything from snuffle mats to bandanas, comfy blankets, toys (even with catnip for the felines!), and more.

It is entertaining watching the animals stimulated by snuffle mats and catnip toys, and pleasurable to see them also comforted by Golden PAWS creations.
