The Arlington Public Library is excited to announce the Maker Space will now be offering free curbside pickup activity kits. This service will be available at the Downtown Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday while supplies last. These ready-to-go activities give patrons the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts projects at home. In each kit, you’ll find the instructions and materials to get started. Three kits will be available per household.

To get your free kit:

  1. Email [email protected] to let library staff know which kit you’re interested in picking up. Please include your library card number in the email.
  2. You’ll receive an email when your kits are ready for pickup.
  3. Drive to the Downtown Library and park in the designated curbside pick-up parking lane.
Call (817) 459-6900 to let library staff know you are there to pick up your items. If you are picking up books or other items along with your kits, please let the staff know your complete list. You'll also be asked for your library card number so your book can be checked out. Provide staff with the make, model, and color of your car.
  4. Library staff will place your items on a designated table, then stand at the door of the building and watch while you pick up your items. Library staff will disinfect all items and surfaces after pickup.

Every month the Maker Space team will be adding new kits. Currently, you can request kits to make the following items:

  • How to make scrunchies.
  • How to make sleeping masks.
  • How to make a suncatcher

Don’t forget to share your finished work for a chance to be featured on the Arlington Public Library’s social media. Send pictures of your completed projects to [email protected] or share with us on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.

If you have questions about this new service, please email our Maker Space staff at [email protected].
