Back by popular demand, Arlington's leaf recycling program will run from Nov. 13, 2020 through Jan. 15, 2021.

The City of Arlington encourages residents to participate in the annual free leaf recycling program. Get your friends, family and neighbors to join in!

This united effort helps clear our neighborhoods of leaves, and it keeps leaves out of the landfill. These leaves will be mulched, and this mulch will be free to Arlington residents in the spring (based on availability.)

This year, the City of Arlington has partnered with Republic Services to add five additional drop-off sites throughout the city:

  • Arlington Landfill: 800 Mosier Valley Road
  • UTA Baseball parking lot on Mitchell Street, east of Fielder Road
  • Richard Simpson Park: 6300 W. Arkansas Lane (please note this is replacing the Bowman Springs location)
  • S.J. Stovall Park: 2800 W. Sublett Road
  • Veterans Park: 3600 W. Arkansas Lane
  • Vandergriff Park: 2800 S Center Street
  • Cravens Park: 400 Cravens Park Drive
  • Harold Patterson Sports Complex: 1000 W Bardin Road
  • Randol Mill Park: 1901 W Randol Mill Road

Here are some rules for leaf drop-off:

  • Leaves must be bagged. Paper or compostable bags are preferred but plastic bags will also be accepted.
  • Leaves must come from residential households.
  • These leaf drop-off sites are for Arlington residents only.
  • Contractors who rake and bag residential leaves can take these bags to the Arlington Landfill free of charge during these dates. For information about the landfill, call 817-354-2300.

Leaves left at the curb will be collected at a rate of one cubic yard per service day until all leaves have been collected. Leaves collected curbside will be collected with regular household collection and will not be recycled.

As a reminder, leaves make a wonderful additional to your at-home compost bins. You can add beneficial carbon to your lawn by mowing leaves back into your yard. For more information on composting at home, please visit our compost website.

Taking part in this voluntary program and inspiring others to do the same is a great way to help reduce landfill waste and promote environmental stewardship.
