Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, U.S. Small Business Administration's Dallas/Fort Worth District Director Herbert Austin and SBA’s Acting Southcentral Regional Communications Director Ahmad Goree visited Beverly's Florist, small business located at 3200 S Cooper Street, Suite 109 in Arlington, to promote Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is a national celebration where SBA encourages consumers to shop with small businesses the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Beverly’s Florist received an SBA loan to grow and create jobs. Joining during the visit was Arlington Mayor Jim Ross.

Held the day after “Black Friday,” Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 marks the 13th annual Small Business Saturday, created to help small businesses capture a larger piece of the critical holiday season consumer spending, helping small business owners get more customers through their doors.

The U.S. Small Business Administration also encourages shoppers to go beyond and patronize local restaurant and entertainment businesses. According to American Express®, shoppers came together last year to support their local communities; and Small Business Saturday hit a record high with an estimated $23.3 billion in reported spending at small retailers and restaurants.

The SBA is proud to be a cosponsor of Small Business Saturday, founded by American Express in 2010. To learn more about Small Business Saturday, visit www.sba.gov/saturday.
