The IRS has announced the deadline for taxpayers to submit direct deposit information is Wednesday, May 13 at Noon ET, 11 a.m. CT in order to receive their CARES Act Economic Impact Payment electronically.

After that deadline, taxpayers who did not provide direct deposit information to the IRS will receive their economic impact payment by paper check. The Bureau of the Fiscal Service expects to send paper checks later this month into late June.

Taxpayers interested in providing their direct deposit information can visit https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment.

Those who did not file 2018 or 2019 income tax returns can still provide the IRS with their information, so they can receive an Economic Impact Payment at https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here. The site is designed for individuals who made less than $12,200 ($24,000 couples) in 2018 and 2019 or individuals who had no income in 2018 and 2019.

The IRS will post additional updates related to this topic at www.IRS.gov/coronavirus.
