Homicide Investigation Report #2019-02150815

The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting investigation in the 5600 block of Espanola Drive on Saturday, August 3, 2019 around 9:41 p.m. When patrol officers arrived, they located several projectiles that struck the front door of a residence but no one was injured inside. Investigators received information from a third party witness, that the decedent met with possible known suspects in the 5800 Blk. of Kelly Elliott Road. The victim started speaking with four to five suspects inside their vehicle and was shot. The victim returned fire and was driven to a nearby medical clinic. The suspects then left the scene, drove to the 5600 Blk. of Espanola Drive and fired shots into the residence that had ties to the victim.

Officers located the man at the clinic and observed apparent gunshot wounds. They requested emergency personnel to transport the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Officers did not locate any additional gunshot victims.

Investigators are trying to determine the time line of events of what lead to the shooting. The deceased will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
