The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 7900 block of Corona Court at around 8:05 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. A woman called police to report that she had shot her husband. When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive adult male with an apparent gunshot wound inside the home. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The woman, identified as 45-year-old Wendy Behnke, remained on scene and was detained by officers for questioning. She has since been arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Murder. Detectives believe there was a domestic disturbance involving the suspect and the victim prior to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
