The Arlington Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 600 block of Lillard Road around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020. When officers arrived, they located a 53-year old man deceased near a doorway with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers also found an adult woman with an apparent gunshot wound who was later transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Investigators believe that a relative of the woman who was shot and lives nearby had been at the location with a second adult male. During the incident, the second adult male and the female relative were inside the residence when the domestic disturbance was occurring. At some point, the man who was later pronounced deceased, began discharging a firearm inside the residence striking the adult woman whom investigators believe he had a romantic relationship. The second adult man, a neighbor, pulled out a firearm and discharged it at the initial shooter striking and killing him.

Due to the number of people in the residence and evidence at the scene, it will take some time for detectives to process this case to determine exactly what occurred. No arrests have been made at this time. The case will remain under investigation and ultimately be referred to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
