Arlington’s newest sports resort hotel, the flagship Live! by Loews, is now open and ready for visitors coming to The American Dream City for conventions, meetings, sporting events and other entertainment.

The opening of the $150 million, 300-room hotel, which incorporates a 35,000-square-foot expansion of the City’s convention center facilities, is one of the latest milestones in Arlington’s Entertainment District.

Nearby, roof construction is well under way on the Rangers $1.2 billion Globe Life Field project, which is now more than 75 percent complete and on track to open in March 2020. And an estimated 2.5 million people visited the adjacent Texas Live! dining, hospitality and entertainment venue since it opened one year ago.

Additional articles and videos about Globe Life Field, the adjacent Texas Live! complex as well as updates on the Rangers’ final season at Globe Life Park are featured in the latest edition of the national and state award-winning Home Plate Update.

This 11th edition also includes insights about the exclusive food and beverage provider for the future ballpark and entertaining new episodes of At the Park with Chuck, a series on MyArlingtonTV hosted by Rangers’ PA announcer Chuck Morgan. The segment has exceeded 1 million views on the City’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Home Plate Update is a joint project by the City of Arlington’s Office of Communications and the Texas Rangers. This quarterly publication is dedicated to informing citizens about everything happening with the Globe Life Field project and the adjacent Texas Live! development. Every edition will be produced in a digital format, allowing for layers of additional content like videos, graphics, links to websites and project documents, and other supporting materials.

In 2018 and in 2019, Home Plate Update received top honors from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers, which awarded the City of Arlington a TAMI Award in the Tech Services – Electronic Newsletter or Magazine category. At the Park with Chuck also won a 2019 TAMI Award in the Best Planned Social Media category.

In 2018, the publication also received the highest award from the national organization, City-County Communications: Marketing Association, or 3CMA in the E-Newsletter category. This year, 3CMA recognized the publication with an Award of Excellence for the same category.
