The Parks Mall at Arlington, one of the largest participating Kindness Zones in The American Dream City, recently hosted a super-sized slumber party for local Girl Scouts.

The Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains held its first Pajamas at the Parks event, which included a showing of The Lion King, glow-in-the-dark skating and broomball, a karaoke dance party, a trip to Build-a-Bear Workshop, yoga, shopping, a scavenger hunt, Instagram contest and more.

During the event, Dr. Von Peaks with the Arlington Community Relations Commission (CRC) shared a welcome on behalf of Mayor Jeff Williams and awarded the Girl Scouts CEO a certificate for the organization's values and kind acts. Dr. Peaks, who was accompanied by team members Timi Hazel and Nikkie Hunter, then spoke on the City’s ongoing Kindness Initiative to make Arlington a kinder place to live, work, play and learn.

As a reminder that kindness pays, names were then drawn from a bowl and two scouts were awarded $50 gift certificates, compliments of the Community Relations Commission.
