In a medical emergency, every second counts. Do you know basic CPR or medical assistance techniques that could save someone's life?
On Wednesday, May 22, the community is invited to learn compression-only CPR and how to stop bleeding in an emergency at the four main entrances at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The free event, which will begin at 12:30 p.m., is hosted by local emergency medical service provider American Medical Response (AMR), in collaboration with the Arlington Fire Department and the Texas Rangers Baseball Club.
Compression-only CPR allows bystanders to keep life-saving blood flowing through a victim's body just by pressing on the chest in a hard, fast rhythm. Bystanders who provide compression-only CPR can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim's chances of survival.
