Floodplain Program for Public Information Committee

The City of Arlington’s Public Works Department is seeking volunteers for the Floodplain Program for Public Information Committee (FPPIC). The committee is in need of volunteers that are interested in communicating the importance of flood safety and preparedness to the City of Arlington community.

The FPPIC is responsible for evaluating the City’s current flood outreach initiatives and identifying new strategies to implement our 2020-2025 Program for Public Information plan (PPI). The PPI plan helps inform property owners, renters and businesses about flood insurance coverage, flood hazards and other flood safety and preparedness topics. The outreach initiatives developed by this committee help to reduce flood damage to existing structures throughout the City and helps create a safer more flood aware community.

The committee currently meets twice a year to review and evaluate the implementation of the 2020-2025 PPI plan. Applications to join the committee need to be submitted no later than Friday, Feb. 5, 2022. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact [email protected].
