Forget the neckties and gift cards. Nothing means more to most dads than time with their kids. So we’ve compiled a list of Father’s Day activities you can treat dad to, without ever leaving town.
Skip the fancy brunch and give dad what he really wants – donuts and beer. Legal Draft Beer Co., in Downtown’s Urban Union, is hosting the unique pairing Sunday. Tickets cost $15 and include five mini-donuts and a flight of five beers. If you’re under 21 or don’t want to drink, tickets cost $10 and come with mini-donuts plus unlimited root beer. There are tastings at 1 and 3 p.m.
If your dad is a car lover, “Texas Live!” is the place to be Sunday. The entertainment venue is hosting a free car show complete with games and prizes. There will be a variety of vehicles with drivers competing to win best in show. The party starts at noon.
Take dad to brunch and grab a gift while you’re there. Urban Alchemy, in Downtown Arlington, is giving away free half-pound bags of coffee with any $10 purchase Sunday.
Make memories and a souvenir. If your dad is into tools or crafts, head to The Rustic Brush Saturday. The craft experience is hosting two sessions for fathers and children to work together. Projects start at $28. There will also be hourly giveaways. The sessions are at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Click here to register.
Get some quality time on the green. Arlington is home to four city-maintained golf courses, including the newly updated Texas Rangers Golf Club. (The course was named Renovation of the Year by Golf Inc.) Click here to book a tee time.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads, granddads and father figures who call Arlington home.
