This week, the Arlington Police Department was notified that a driver involved in a multi-vehicle wreck that occurred in August has died from her injuries.
On August 15, 2024, at approximately 2:55 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of E. Arkansas Lane and Remynse Drive to investigate the crash. Investigators determined the driver of a 2016 Toyota Scion, who was traveling northbound along Remynse Drive, pulled out onto E. Arkansas Lane as a 2024 Acura MDX was passing through the intersection traveling westbound. For additional context, traffic along eastbound and westbound Arkansas Lane does not stop at that particular intersection. The two vehicles collided. The impact of the crash caused the Scion to then collide with a 2015 Honda Civic that was stopped at a stop sign in the southbound lanes of Remynse Drive.
The driver of the Scion, a 71-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased on September 5, 2024. The driver of the Acura was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Civic was not injured.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the woman’s name.
