On Saturday, May 21, 2022 at approximately 12:02 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a single vehicle rollover crash in the 2100 block of N. Davis Drive.

Investigators determined the driver of 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control of the vehicle as he was traveling northbound on N. Davis Drive, struck a curb and began rolling, striking both a residential fence and a utility pole. Witnesses told officers the Jeep was traveling at a high rate of speed and was weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.

Three adult males were inside the Jeep. All of them were transported to area hospitals.

A 39-year-old back seat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced deceased by hospital staff shortly after arrival. The driver and front seat passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver, 31-year-old Jose Rodriguez Perez, will be charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
