On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 8:28 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in the 800 block of Blue Sky Drive.

Arriving officers located a 7-year old child who had been struck by a motorist. The child was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Investigators believe that an SUV was traveling southbound on Blue Sky Drive when the child attempted to cross the street from the east to the west. The vehicle struck and ran over the child.

 The driver, a man in his 60s, has been cooperative and was released from the scene. There were no immediate signs of impairment on the driver and no information or evidence that suggests speeding was involved. The case remains under investigation. 

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next of kin have been identified.
