The Arlington Police Department responded to a major crash in the intersection of E. Sublett Road and New York Avenue around 3:51 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019. Preliminary details indicate that a pickup truck was traveling southbound on New York Avenue while a passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on E. Sublett Road. The pickup truck collided with the car in the intersection.

The driver of the passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased once next of kin has been notified.
