Arlington Parks & Recreation to Begin Reopening Process Friday

In accordance with Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to reopen Texas, some Arlington Parks & Recreation facilities will reopen Friday, May 1, 2020.

Openings include:

  • Arlington Tennis Center
  • Tennis courts at Arlington parks
  • Ventana Grille at Tierra Verde Golf Club will open for patio dining from its self-service window adjacent to the 10th tee, while continuing curbside to-go options for both individual and family-style meals. The restaurant dining room and bar will remain closed. Please call (817) 548-5047 for more info.

As a reminder, Arlington parks, trails and dog parks are currently open to visitors with proper social distancing. Lake Arlington is open as well.

The following facilities, amenities and programming remain closed.

  • All parks playgrounds
  • All parks workout stations
  • Bob Duncan Center
  • Cliff Nelson Recreation Center
  •  Dottie Lynn Recreation Center
  • Elzie Odom Athletic Center
  • Meadowbrook Recreation Center
  • Eunice Activity Center
  • Hugh Smith Recreation Center & Indoor Pool
  • Lake House Events Center
  • Senior Recreation Center New York
  • All youth and adult sports leagues
  • All pavilion rentals
  • All athletic field rentals
  • All park restrooms and water fountains
  • All Arlington Parks & Recreation special events

Parks staff is working closely with the Arlington Fire Department to determine a reasonable re-opening timeline that complies with Gov. Abbott’s latest executive orders, the City’s Roadmap to Reopen and Recover plan and social distancing recommendations from local health officials and the CDC.
