City Service and Facility Update

Some City of Arlington facilities will remain closed and some services will continue to be unavailable on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, because of ongoing electric, gas and water utility challenges during extreme winter weather conditions.

The City assures the public that essential services, including police and fire, the 9-1-1 call center and street and water services, will continue to be operational. Arlington Water Utilities also continues efforts to restore water pressure and service to homes and businesses. Please click here to read about the City’s request for customers to boil tap water prior to consumption until pressure is restored to the water system.

Curbside recycling and trash collection remain suspended due to hazardous driving conditions. City Hall and Municipal Office Tower, Municipal Court, libraries, recreation centers, Animal Services Center, Water Utilities South Service Center, Handitran and the landfill will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 18. Via, the City’s on-demand public transportation services, will remain limited. Please check the Via app for availability.

Additionally, the Arlington Fire Department’s COVID-19 emergency mass vaccination site at Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center will remain closed this week until safer travel conditions prevail. Notifications with appointment confirmation will be sent out to eligible individuals when operations can safely continue. Please click here for FAQs about receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, especially if you are due for a second-dose shot this week.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep our employees and the community safe during this emergency weather event.
